Murri School Courtyard Masterplan

ASPECT Studios partnered with The Murri School and Blaklash to transform an unused, hot, concrete-paved courtyard into a culturally significant, multifunctional space. This pro bono project aimed to enhance the school’s campus while educating the school community to lead the design process.

Central to the project was integrating First Peoples’ knowledge into a green space. The design process involved on-site engagement and deep listening to the First Nations community to ensure the design reflected site-specific challenges and opportunities.

Working and learning from First Nations people offers invaluable insights and perspectives. Their deep connection to the land and rich cultural heritage provides unique opportunities for understanding sustainable practices and fostering meaningful collaboration.
