PIA Awards – Shore

Late last year the Shoreline Drive Landscape Plan received a Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) Commendation in Victoria, recognised in the Planning with Country category. The PIA awards celebrate the value planning brings to communities, with the judges praising the project for advancing self-determination for Traditional Custodians in parks management—a vital step towards meaningful cultural leadership in land stewardship.

The landscape plan showcases the importance of cultural capacity building, aligning with GLaWAC's Whole-of-Country Plan and working together in Joint Management with Parks Victoria. Through a collaborative approach, it supports GLaWAC Rangers and emphasises community engagement, setting a benchmark for integrating cultural perspectives into park planning and management.
