As the ICOMOS GA2023 wraps up in Sydney, it was great to see our Associate Studio Director Bianca Pineda share her approach to landscape architecture with heritage and place experts from around the world.
Participating as an emerging leader in an allied field, Bianca presented to the assembly twice.
In a session with the ICOMOS Youth Forum on the beautiful Cockatoo Island, she sketched out a picture of landscape architecture as a collaborative discipline and shared her perspective on the evolution of the practice of Landscape Architecture in the context of a world-wide awakening to the importance of First Nations concepts of place.
She then spoke to an audience at the International Convention Centre Sydney about ASPECT Studios’s work on Loftus Lane, explaining how the site’s pre and post colonial history informed the design at both an urban, and detailed scale.
