Last week Devonport Waterfront Park was awarded Parks and Leisure Australia Park of the Year Vic/Tas. The Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding initiatives and innovative efforts which promote good use of leisure time for a number of social, environmental and economic benefits to the community.
The park includes a scenic riverfront promenade, vibrant play areas, essential public amenities, and a large lawn amphitheater perfect for community activities. It also features a unique tectonic water feature and a garden inspired by northern Tasmania's geology and native plants, all against the backdrop of the Mersey River.
Thank you to Parks and Leisure Australia Vic/Tas Region for this award and congratulations to our team and project partner Lyons Architects, as well as the Devonport City Council for bringing this new park to life. The project now proceeds to the Parks and Leisure National Awards to be held in Brisbane in October.
