The Expo Albania design competition called for innovative concepts for a versatile, state-of-the-art exhibition center in Tirana, designed to host a diverse range of economic, cultural, social, and artistic events.
The landscape design for the submission, led by the Dubai studio, celebrates Albania's diverse landscapes by blending natural beauty and historical significance. The design thoughtfully integrates the building with its surroundings, featuring terraces on the east side that step down to the Expo landscape, providing scenic views and easy access to public transport.
Inspired by contemporary folklore, the sequence of spaces encourages exploration and engagement, while reinforcing the ecological fabric of the region. The facades serve as a vital connection between the interior and exterior, transforming the site into an interactive canvas for discovery, meeting, and play.
