Lightsview Linear Park won an Award of Excellence in the Parks and Open Space category, as well as an Infrastructure Award and a Healthy Parks, Healthy People Commendation. While the initial focus of the space was stormwater collection, the project team worked together to make sure that high quality landscape, biodiversity and recreational spaces were among the project’s defining elements.
Meanwhile, the Mitcham Library and Hawthorn Reserve Upgrade won an Award of Excellence for Civic Landscape and a Healthy Parks, Healthy People Commendation. A persuasive demonstration of integrated civic design and environmental engineering, the reserve has been reimagined as a vibrant and active community hub.
Finally, the North-South Corridor Regency Road to Pym Street (R2P) Project Green Infrastructure Plan also picked up an Award for Landscape Planning. The project sets a benchmark for greening in a complex urban infrastructure project and was developed as part of a highly collaborative design process.
