Caulfield to Dandenong Linear Park at the NGV

In March, the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia’s leading cultural institution revealed works from over 200 local artists, designers, studios, and firms from across the city in their annual exhibition, Melbourne NOW. The exhibition houses a range of unique works that celebrate the creative spirit of Melbourne.
Our designs for the linear park, which run along the railway between Caulfield and Dandenong in Melbourne, was selected to be a part of the exhibition within the Civic Architecture category. The display showcases the transformation of urban space into a renewed streetscape that evokes a sense of community and promotes social activity. The 16-kilometre linear park, which we collaborated on with Cox Architecture, includes courtyards, public squares, play spaces and shared pathways that provide attractive, safe and well-maintained places for the community to enjoy.

The exhibition drew attention from The Age, which discussed how landscape architecture should not only limited to its functional value but also extends to cultural significance.
