Quay Quarter Tower

The interior and external landscapes at Quay Quarter Tower set a new benchmark for generous and meaningful open spaces in tall buildings.
  • TRADITIONAL OWNERS & ONGOING CUSTODIANS OF THE LAND Gadigal of the Eora Nation
  • CLIENT AMP Capital (now Dexus)
  • LOCATION Quay Quarter Precinct, Sydney, Australia
  • YEAR 2015 - 2022
The tower itself, located in the iconic Circular Quay, is an ambitious transformation of the old AMP Centre at 50 Bridge Street. Together with Quay Quarter Lanes, the tower defines the emerging Quay Quarter Precinct, a richly detailed, publicly oriented urban habitat.
ASPECT Studios designed the tower’s entry points and retail frontages, upgrades to Goldsbrough Lane, and a rooftop garden on the podium, which seamlessly integrates international artist Olafur Eliasson’s artwork Roof for stray thoughts to create a functional yet striking space.
Accessible to the public and planted with endemic and native plants, the rooftop garden’s beautiful detailing constitutes a meaningful investment in the public life of the city. Programmed to cater for a range of events, the garden is a generator of civic activity.
