Regency Road to Pym Street

This project comprises a major section of the North-South Corridor project, which will repair Adelaide’s transport network while injecting significant new green public spaces into areas that sorely need them. ASPECT Studios, in collaboration with COX Architecture, designed an urban green corridor that will facilitate the free flow of north-south movements, enrich and improve the experience of pedestrians and cyclists, reconnect communities, and regenerate natural systems and resources.

The design language complements the previously completed Torrens Road to River Torrens sector of the Corridor.

A moiré pattern was applied to the three-metre-high noise barriers, softening their visual impact. Vivid greens were used on the pedestrian and road bridges to disrupt and enliven the grey hardscape.

This process involved devising integrated landscape and urban design solutions for the whole project, including landscaping and revegetation, access for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles, lighting, stormwater drainage, public art, road safety, underground and overhead services, and maintenance access.
